The U.S. is beginning to help Nigerian Government find missing schoolgirls
The United States is planning to help Nigerian government find the 200 young girls who went missing, but the government isn’t planning on sending U.S. Troops. There were more than 200 Nigerian schoolgirls kidnapped by the Islamist militant group Boko Haram last month.
The Obama Administration is sharing all intelligence with Nigerian government and the United States plans to do their best to help find the girls and support Nigeria without having to send troops. White House spokesman Jay Carney has given the Nigerian government steps and programs to help strengthen their criminal justice system, ability to combat improvised explosive devices, and provide economic opportunity for women.
The United States will be sharing intelligence through satellite imagery and communication intercepts. The terrorist group who kidnapped the girls is against Western Education and plans to sell the girls in the market because they should be getting married rather than spending time in school.
Many American citizens believe that the United States should be doing their part to help Nigeria and show that all children deserve an education. A campaign has begun on twitter and other social media websites over the past few weeks to bring the girls home and many people have said that if over 200 young girls were kidnapped in America or Europe, many countries would have joined together to find them by now.
The United States is trying to do what many people want and help Nigeria by providing ideas and and information they have on Boko Haram, however it is doubtful that the United States is going to send troops over to Nigeria to stop the terrorist group. Many Americans and politicians are unwilling to spend the money and lives it would take to send troops to Nigeria, even though it would help return the schoolgirls to their homes sooner.
More American and European citizens should voice their opinions on what should be done about the kidnapping in the hopes of getting more countries to aid Nigeria and hopefully send in troops if the Nigerian government is unable to find the girls.
If dogs ran the government, it would be acceptable for all children and women to receive and education.
